Disappointed

Location: Hampshire Age: Over 65 Bought For Myself Occasion: Birthday
Second time and disappointed by state of course and very limited eating options. Not worth £140 for two. Rough was far too long and too close to fairways - no real degradation. Could not get in Brasserie as fully booked. Set menu in bar very limited and food poor e.g. dried out sea bass.
What would you improve for next time? Degradation of rough, ability to pre book Brasserie, greater choice of food and better quality of food

A friend and I had a very enjoyable day. We started with coffee and roll, The weather was very good for late September. The golf went as expected on an unfamiliar course. (There no bunkers but plenty of rough to compensate.) We then had a very excellent lunch in the Brasserie.
What would you improve for next time? The signage around the course is very poor and should be much clearer.

A course for all abilities

First of all we had a fantastic time and is recommended. We are a mid to high handicap golfers so were a bit apprehensive about playing such a long course seeing the headline championship statistics, however we shouldn't have been worried. Playing off the shorter red and yellow tees reduced the length suitably and unusually there are no bunkers. Where there is water is either near the tees or the green, not in between. We started the day with bacon rolls and a cup of coffee and pot of tea. Playing a new course does make you play a little slower but we were not pressurised and we were lucky with a nice sunny day which always helps. The setting within the mansion grounds are great. Afterwards the menu choice at the 19th (set in the old stables) was of good restaurant standard and was delicious. Try the guinea fowl. If you want to give a gift to a golfer, this is it.
What would you improve for next time? Can't think of anything!

Great Day Out

My friend and I had a thoroughly great day golfing at Luton Hoo. We were greeted by the pro on the day and were promptly presented with our bacon rolls and coffee, then off for the golf. It is a long course with a par 73. I asked if we could play off the white tees (to the dismay of my friend Clarky) so that we could take full advantage of the course. It is strange to play a course with no bunkers, but there are still plenty of challenges ahead. Following on from the golf we came back to be greeted again and shown to Adams Brasserie for our meal. Once again we were delighted with the quality and the attentive staff. On a whole it was a great day and would recommend it as a great gift, so many thanks to all at Luton Hoo.
What would you improve for next time? Nothing it was excellent

Great Day

From our arrival we were very well looked after. We started with coffe and a very nice bacon roll. We then went back to the pro shop where we were given an earlier tee time as we had arrived early to miss the traffic. The course was in excellent condition. It is very long with some interesting holes. There are no bunkers but the placement of some big trees and water does make for awkward shots into some greens. We were then greeted by the pro staff as we came back to the clubhouse. We then enjoyed a fantastic 2 course lunch which was not the normal clubhouse fare. The food was what you would get in a high class restaurant. The end to a great day.
What would you improve for next time? Play better golf.

Great golfing gift

My daughters bought me this golf day gift for my "special birthday". The day included pre golf coffee and muffins, but we had option of a bacon roll. However this service was very slow, as we had to wait 40 minutes for the rolls to arrive. The course and the rest of the day was excellent, set out in parkland the course is fairly open with very few hazards. (No bunkers due to local laws). We hired a buggy which included a tablet style gps map of the course with remaining yardages and scorecard. The day ended with a 2 course lunch which consisted of a good choice of either starter/main/dessert, the service of which was much improved. Overall a great gift and superb day out, which I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the breakfast service.
What would you improve for next time? Prompter breakfast service and clearer course markings
